NamespaceIndex and Node identifier as string type

I created a Server Interface inside OPC UA communication. I'm communicating with UaExpert as expected, but I need to use a third software that needs the information on NamespaceIndex 3, and the Server Interface always creates it on Index 4. Another thing is about the NodeId, is it possible to set the IdentifierType as String?

sancruz Gold Expert Joined: 3/11/2019 Last visit: 1/7/2026 Posts: 1653 Rating: (322)	Hi, it depends on the cpu which was used (S7-1200 or S7-1500) and which method was used to configure the server interface. 1. S7-1500 with "standard SIMATIC server interface": Identifier should be string per default. 2. S7-1500 with manual configured server interface in project tree: Identifier can be changed with SIOME 3. S7-1200: As the S7-1200 does not support the standard SIMATIC interface at all, SIOME is necessary. Maybe this FAQ is helpful (should also work for S7-1500 with non standard interface): How do you change the Node ID identifier type of the nodes in the S7-1200 OPC UA Server from "Numeric" to "String"? regards sancruz
