I need more communications for my PLC

I have in our factory a PLC with CPU 315-2 PN/DP (6ES7 315-2EH14-0AB0) with a maximun of 16 communications but is full and we need more It is possible to get more communications without change the CPU? There is any kind of Communication Module that can increases the number of communications that we have? Thank you everyone and happy new year!

In the second case, would you like to use the CPU's integrated Profinet interface for Modbus TCP communication instead of the CP modules? If so, you should use the library for the integrated PN interface (MODBUSPN) and it does not use Netpro's "static" TCP connections. The library uses system blocks TCON, TSEND, TRCV, TDISCON internally to set and send data.

However, depending on the type of communication protocols used, there may be other ways to increase the number of connectable partners. Your PLC allows up to 16 connections based on S7 communication and an additional 16 connections for Open User Connection (OUC). Using the SIMATIC S7-300 Ethernet CP with multiplexing support is one way to increase the number of S7 communications. The other possibility is to replace the CPU with e.g. CPU 317-2 PN/DP, which allows 32 S7 connections. Kind regards Stefan
