Copying Values in Online Trend Control.

I want to trend 8 Temperatures with the same properties on the same pdl. and would like to set-up a single curve then copy to another curve and select another tag that will have the same parameters. Thanks.

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	You're trying to copy the properties from one trend to another, right? Will they be showed on the same Control? If so, you just need to set which trend is to be used as reference for the others, with C that can be done by setting the index for the control.

GF Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	This will be done in Graphic Designer. They will be in the same control. I am not able to program C but would be able to modify a function if it is available in the Global Script Editor if it's available.

Salma Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	Unfortunately I don't think you can do this easily. When you add a new curve to a trend it picks up all the default settings. However ... if you are familiar with VBA you could write a function that automatically set the properties for new curves. The key is to look at the Properties Dialog box and not the Configuration Dialog Box. As Danielle mentions, setting the Index property sets all other properties to reference that curve. So if you set the Index to 0 then all properties are looking at your first curve. If you set the Index to 1 then all properties are referencing your second curve. You could write a VBA function that automatically copies the properties of the first curve and pastes it onto all subsequent curves. I would like to stress that this is not a standard function and you would have to write it yourself. Unless anyone else has already done this ?

Salma Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	Yes, the C script will make the changes in Runtime. You could do the same thing in VBS. I was referring to VBA which will make the change on the PDL in the Graphics Designer. GF, maybe you should do it in Runtime and ask Danielle for their script ?

[:D] Setting the index goes somewhat like this: SetPropWord(Screen_Name, "Trend_Control", "Index", 0); // Screen name was supplied as a parameter when calling the script, "Trend_Control" is the Trend control object's name... Of course you'd have to set all the trend propertiesmsuch as "RelayCurves", "GridLineValue" and so on... Sorry I couldn't do the whole script! [:(]
