upgrade pc rt project from v17 => v19

Any thoughts? should I wait for a debugging period, anything I should consider when doing the migration? cheers
	Changing random lines of code in your program until it works is "hacky" and "bad practice" but if you do it fast enough it's machine learning and pays 4 x your salary

The details of the migration are indicated in the V19 manual: SIMATIC STEP 7 Basic/Professional V19 and SIMATIC WinCC V19 starting on page 489. No specific issue to take into account is specified. Before performing the migration, it may be advisable to do a complete compilation to regenerate the project and then migrate it.

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 1/9/2026 Posts: 16629 Rating: (1944)	Hello robbie with every new version of a Software or firmware there is the risk to run into early bugs but in case of WinCC Unified you have also a lot of new features available in a newer Version. Also the Update cycle in a new version is quite high, so an Update will come up almost ever 2-3 Month If there is trouble you could also change the Image Version of the Unified device to V18 for example and the licenses are downward compatible. I would go with V19, but as suggested do a full compile and do a full backup in case you have to build backwards to teh original version Bye Murof
