Hi aamirawan91, The real-time part of PROFINET communication is based on the Ethernet protocol. This means that devices are addressed by their MAC address and not by their IP address. As a result, PROFINET cannot be routed because routing is done with the IP address. Therefore, the devices must all be on the same subnet. Depending on the hardware used, it may be an option to separate the ports required for PROFINET by VLAN, so that the previously used subnet can continue to function while the PROFINET devices use a separate VLAN subnet. I would say at the moment it is not a question of how to configure this in TIA Portal, it is first of all a question of how to connect to the same subnet. Kind regards |
