I am just beginning my "road trip" with OPC UA and S7-1500, there is really a lot of information to digest, it is a very large procotoll.

In my specific scenario, for the product I am workin on, I have the following HW/SW:

TIA v18 (upgrade to TIA v19 planned)

S7-1514SP F-CPU, FW 3.0 (upgrade to FW 3.1 planned)

Future possible CPUs: 1516F, 1517F (FW 3.1)

The application looks approximately like this:

The 1514SP CPU is the OPC UA Server, I will have several Methods defined through which the higher level Warehouse Control System will transfer data/parameters to the PLC.

Additionally, the PLC should be able to send Events to the WCS with Alarms, Machine events and logs etc... the Data structure should be very flexible.

The Server Methods seem to be clear to me, I have already implemented a few and that seems to be quite easy to implement. The Events (server to client) however are for me quite unclear at the moment, I am still researching on that.

I would really appreciate if you could post here any further resources which could help me to "onboard" the OPC UA Procotoll easier. TIA Examples, Documentation or similar, basically everything a beginner in the procotoll would need to enable easier development.
