AutoGen_3582572 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Additional second analogue spindle (without encoder) setup for live tool mill: We use SINUMERIK 808D Advanced Turning controller for our CNC lathe. Our machine has MX1 (linear), MZ1 (linear), C (spindle) axis configured with V70 siemens drivers and all working good. We would like to connect second analogue spindle without encoder (analog voltage connect from the inverter to X54 port pin1 and pin9, rotation direction CW and CCW connect from the inverter to X21 pin8 and pin9) and control feeds and spin directions with Gcode. Now we need to configure MD parameters for SP2 control (speed, rotation direction). We tried many different MD configurations, but when we want to start second spindle we get message: Wait: No spindle enable. Could someone write us step-by-step all MD parameter values, that we be need to set - to add this second analogue spindle without encoder to this controller? P.S. "We didn't bought optional additional NX axis license..." Attachment IMG_5419.jpg (368 Downloads)

This requires the 808D Advanced Tool box that you have to purchase from Siemens, I do not know if you have this? Are you familiar with PLC programming on the 808D? Also adding a second spindle is what is considered a "substantial change to the original machine design" and requires a complete new CE evaluation if the machine is inside the EU. I know it seems like a relative "simple" add on but this is properly the reason for the original manufacture not being helpful and why we in general are reluctant to assist you in this matter.
