Hi all.

I have to address all the F-DI/DO cards from the user program, and I only have found the FB "PROFIsafeAddrAssign", described in this link:

The problem is that I have a CPU 1512SP F with the cards in the same rack, and it seems the example linked before only works with cards inserted in distributed peripherie. In fact, some inputs of the block are referred to "BusSytem" (PN/DP), or "Hwidentifier_IM" (Hw Constant IO_Device~Proxy), that doesn't exists in my device system.

By another way, in the example, they have one CPU to manage the F address assignment with the Safety capabilities disabled, and in my project I only have one CPU and I need of course to enable this setting.

Do you know about some another block/way to address automatically the F cards?

in the documentation to the FAQ, you can read in chapter 1:

The information in this document is valid for the following F modules of the ET 200SP in the central and distributed configuration: …

So why do you believe it would not work with a central configuration? Have you tried it?

When continuing reading the documentation, you will find the description of the block parameters in chapter 4.

• HW_Identifier_Module: Hardware ID of the F module — use something like Local~F-DI_8x24VDC_HF_1
• HW_Identifier_IM: Hardware ID of the interface module — try Local or Local~Common
• BusSystem: 1: PROFIBUS, 2: PROFINET, 3: Central — use 3

Certainly, it's described...I have read the document too fast, xD.

And what about the note in chapter 5?:

Since the FB "PROFIsafeAddrAssign" can only be executed on an F-CPU with disabled F-capability, you have to do the following for the copied F-CPU:
•Disable the F-capability (seeFigure 5-2).
•Delete all F blocks in the "Program blocks" folder in the project navigation.

I can't disable the F-capability in my project.

PD: Of course I've tested the program (with the right settings), and it doesn't works.

you may have misunderstood the application of FB "PROFIsafeAddrAssign". The intention of this application is not to enable an automatic commissioning of one machine, it's designed for series machines. It would not be allowed to do the functionality with activated failsafe capability.

I understand what do you mean, but I need to find some way to achieve this. I'm working in a complete auto-configurable system to commissioning machines with different versions, introducing a code from an HMI (or SD with a CSV file), and the system it must be able to configure itself not only the standard cards (presence and position), but the safety cards too. Maybe I have to take a look in another ways...

Hi all.

I've contacted with the Siemens support Department and it seems it is not possible to do the assignment from a central PLC with the F-capability enabled. I paste the response of the supporter with the options available to achieve it.

"Sadly there is no other option to assign the failsafe addresses using the PLC's program.

If you use on of the F modules listed here.

and configure the Profinet device using the GSDML
the you could use the FCT too to assign the F-addresses.

if you use the TIA integrated  configuration HSP the you need to use TIA to assign the F addresses.
as an alternative to TIA you could use the SAT tool.

Beyond this point I see no other option to help you".

I was also not able to get this example to work as well, despite trying all the possible system contants.

Here is what I've tried:

V18 Updt 3 - New Project

1. Created new 1512F (PLC1) with Failsafe activated, added F-DI8 and F-DQ4  in central rack, compiled, downloaded, set profisafe addresses, all lights green. Basic "working" configuration complete.

2. Copy pasted 1512F (PLC2), deactivated failsafe, removed safety blocks, moved FIO into "modules not plugged in", compiled, then downloaded.  PLC is all green, FIO is flashing red as expected.

3. (PLC2) Added ProfisafeAddrAssign block to Main.  Created DB to set input parameters to block and trigger steps.  Compile and downloaded.

4. (PLC2) Went online, modified all the parameters, Fsourceadd =1, FdestAddr= 65333, HWID_Module=260(From PLC1), HWID_IM = (Tried every value from system constants in PLC1), Slot (tried 1-4, does match actual configuration), BusSytem = (Tried Profinet and Central).

After trying all the possibilities of all system constants with both BusSystem being Profinet and Central, I only get the error 16#C080_9300 which is not documented in the manual.

What does this error actually mean?

This application does function. The trick is to download the hardware of your actual program, then download the software of the FAddress PLC program. If you reread the app note carefully it does state this, though not as clear as it could be.

The FAddress PLC is a copy of your existing PLC, that you move out the safety cards(either delete or move the unused area), deactivate safety, and delete all of the program blocks and replace them with the Auto F-Address program blocks.
