Insausti Posts: 150 Rating: (2)	i have created buttom to change screen by click with the next C action: #define PIC_1 "pict1.pdl" OpenPicture(PIC_1) Then i would like to know how to search for this action in CroosReference component, cause i will have to copy screens and then link with different pictures name.

Salma Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	Just like to mention two things: Simple screen navigation can be done easily using Direct Connection scripts - no need to write C code [:)] - runs on separate thread so screen navigation always works even if scripts are running slow - you can configure this on the Configuration Dialog window of a Button object Secondly, you should only have to program your navigation buttons once. Place these on a PDL and display this in a PictureWindow. That way, when you need to make a change to the buttons you only make the change once and it is reflected on all screens. If this is old news to you then just ignore the above. Just thought I would mention it in case you were not aware of these features [:D]

Salma Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	Also to answer your question, in the Cross Reference Editor you select File / New and select Pictures from the Search drop down box. This shows you all picture references and from here you can open the window and change the picture name (there doesn't seem to be a global find/replace like there is for tags).

Insausti Posts: 150 Rating: (2)	I think i didn't explain fine myself. Let say i have a group of pictures, in these pictures there are buttons to navigate through them. Then i want to copy this group of pictures and the new buttons in the new pictures should be used to navigate in this new pictures. So i would like to know how to change the name on the picture in the script for these new buttons from the crossReference component. Secondly i'm also interesting in your suggestion about to create a pdl and then insert it in another pdl, how to do that. I've been trying inserting picture window, but i didn't manage [:blush:]. Thanks for all

Salma Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	Hi There seems no quick way to change the picture names in scripts - anyone know otherwise ?? The Cross Reference method, which I detailed in my earlier post, will identify the locations but you would need to manually open and edit each script. My second suggestion does use the PictureWindow object. The procedure is usually: - Create an overview screen, e.g. MAIN.PDL - Draw three PictureWindow objects on MAIN - one at the top (HEADER), one at the bottom (FOOTER)and one in the middle (BODY) - Create a HEADER.PDL and FOOTER.PDL window - On the MAIN window, link the top PictureWindow's PictureName propertyto your HEADER.PDL - On the MAIN window, link the bottom PictureWindow's PictureNamepropertyto your FOOTER.PDL - Then on the screen navigation buttons on the FOOTER page you write the scripts to change the picture displayed in the BODY picturewindow on the MAIN window. Hope this makes sense. Maybe someone else can post an example project here ??

With tags it works perfectly, but i don't find the way to do it with the picture name as well. Thank you very much for your help, this conference is great !!!
