Dear Experts

I am using 828D in a turning center both axes have 13 bit single turn absolute encoders.

In threading cycle after cycle starts it shows Alarm 26030 encoder 1 absolute position lost

for both X and Z axis. And machine data 34210 $MA_ENC_REFP_STATE[0] becomes 1
 If I put the axes in motor encoder also I'm getting the same message.

Please help

The thread cutting instructions lead internally to a parameter set change.

To solve the problem the parameter sets have to be filled with the same values for the gear ratio in all involved axes and parameter sets (at leat axes X/Y/Z and index [0] and [1])

Thanks for your replay, in this machine X and Z axis have a ratio of 1:6  and have a direct external encoder for each axis. The data is given below

these MD are the generally suspicous data. - at least for axis AX1 it looks fine - if no gearstep change in the main spindle has been configured. I expect no alarm occuring in threadcutting in M41 (if the second linear axis is configured similarly)

This threading cycle trouble lasts til 2020y. Still no diagnostic info in NCSW V04.08+SP06 for 840D.

Found and repaired non existing gear box in tool axes Z :

N31050 $MA_DRIVE_AX_RATIO_DENOM[0,AX3]=110 ----> 1

N31050 $MA_DRIVE_AX_RATIO_DENOM[1,AX3]=110 ----> 1

N31050 $MA_DRIVE_AX_RATIO_DENOM[5,AX3]=100 ----> 1

N31060 $MA_DRIVE_AX_RATIO_NUMERA[0,AX3]=100 ----> 1
