Profibus cp342-5 Master to cpu317 dp Slave

niallbowie Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Dear all. I need to communicate between two S7-315 PLCs PLC_1 has a CP342-5 Profibus card and is the Master PLC_2 only has the DP port on the CPU and is the slave. I can't get them talking to each other. The lights on the cards are all green. The diagnostics shows there is a connection between to the two nodes. I am using DP_SEND, DP_RECV for the CP342 in the Master I have tried various approaches in the Slave: - direct access to I/O - SFB14, 15 No luck so far. The attached PDF shows the hardware config and function blocks for master and slave. Please help NB Attachment CP342-5 Profibus Master -Slave.pdf (295 Downloads)

Make your DB length say 200 bytes In function DP SEND make SEND parameter as P#DB450.DBX0.0 BYTE 100 In function DP RECV make RECV parameter as P#DB450.DBX100.0 BYTE 100 If you want to read IB 96 then you will see the value at DB450.DBB196 If you want to write QB 96 then you have to write the value at DB450.DBB96 Hope the above helps.

I have updated the PDF with the new config and code. Bhaskaran Posts: 107 Rating: (13)	Hi ! What is the maximum size of the PII and PIQ area in CPU 317-2 DP. I am not sure but probably it can be that the address 1100 is out of the PII / PIQ range. Try a lower address and see whether it works? In the DP slave in the configuration of master slave Row 1 and Row 2 try to select length as 1 and unit as Word. There could be some consistency issue. In DP slave under the option Operating mode - DP slave , disable the checkbox and see whether it works.

Get rid of your 1 second pulse flag for the DP_SEND call and make sure to call DP_SEND and DP_RECV every scan. 2.) GET and PUT are for S7 communications and will NOT work for the DP Master DP Slavesetup that you have (I know you only used them for a trial and am not too sure if they still exist in your logic). Just for future info, I noticed that you seemed to have used SFB 14 and SFB 15 inyour first example. These are for S7-400 CPU's and will not have worked in your 317 anyhow. Right Mouse Click Prosperities there should be a special diagnostic tool for this CP. Please have a look into the Diagnostic Buffer of the CP and have a look at the DP-Master diagnostic. Maybe you could export the buffer? And or send screenshots? The status of the FC's DPSEND and DPRECV could also be helpfull. Hope we will find the reason for your problem. Best regards Sabine
