I'm struggeling with a simple Hw update installation. I cannot copy anything from an extracted Step 7 HSPS folder to the Hardware Update installer. (See the picture attached)

HSPS was downloaded from this Siemens site:

My PCS 7 is v 8.1 running on Windows 7 Enterprise x64 Service Pack 1 (virtual machine). Step 7 is V 5.5 SP 4 HF19. I also ran a repair installation for Step 7 (V 5.5 SP4) and after installed HF19.

I face the same issue with other PCS 7 v8.0-8.2 installations on other VMs. Might the difficulty be a pleasent Windows feature that is blocking something?

Also, I tried the same hw update package and normal copy/install procedure on PCS 7 v9.0 which is running on WIndows 10 x64 and everything worked just fine.

After all I had to request some Step 7 V5.5 compatible hw updates from Siemens support.

Available Step 7 classic HW updates on Siemens page is for Step 7 V5.6 and onwards.

Should have read better the page's first row.
