Pretty sure you can just install the T_COMM library to your s7-1200.  Nothing seems to be specific to the s7-1500.  Download the project library, upgrade to your version of portal, refer to the documentation and see if it works.

I think it will save a lot of time.

That library is not know-how protected, so you can open the scl source and look at it.

I have ran into a few problems trying to set up communications between an Allen Bradley Control Logix and a S7-1200.

Hoping that it could be a simple solution, but like i said I've had issues setting it up.

So a bit about what i'm trying to do:

l am using a 1756-L74 CPU with a 1756-EN2T, these are capable of being set up for open socket communications. I am also testing the communications on an S7-1200.

I have both on the network and they run fine independently

Issues:

I have set up the software in the Allen Bradley software and set it as the server, however i am not sure what port i should set up on this?

In the TIA software, I have set it up to act as a client but i am not sure what the Connection ID or Communications port should be? I get 16#809B as a ConStatus & 16#80A3 as a DisConnStatus

Any ideas or experience with communications between bradley & siemens would be appreciated.

Been member for a while and been off for a while, just came back to the forum. I hope to get answers from you.

I have issue with T_COMM block with Allen bradley as server and siemens as client, but I successfully communicated S7-1515T-2PN with 1756-L71 for both send and receive with DB_Data size of 100 bytes and with data length set at 16 bytes. The setup I have is 1756-L71 is the server and the S7-1515T-2PN is the client.

The problem I face is the moment I sent a 4byte size data (DINT or REAL) from 1756-L71 PLC to S7-1515T-2PN it does not receive fully the data or the data received is wrong and the following byte address from the byte address I configure to receive are not working at all.

I tried sending a (DINT) 4byte size data from 1756-L71 to S7-1515T-2PN with byte address 0 in DB_DATA receive array. It should write the data from byte 0 until byte 3 since it is 4bytes of data but that's not happening. Furthermore, byte address 4 onwards in the DB_Data receive array are not working once I start transferring 4 bytes size data to byte address 0 from 1756-L71 to S7-1515T.
