CP1616 (ABB DSQC 678) with firmware 2.4.2.6 (auto updated from robot pc)

(Master) PLC Beckhoff CX-5669FA

What I'm trying to do is to set up profinet communication between the robot and the plc. I have so far created an PC Station projekt in Step7 that contains hardware CP1616. For it I have defined ip adress, station name, byte size 64/64 and checked the check box that allows it to act as slave (Enable IO device mode) on the profinet network. Saved and compiled and loaded the .xdb file to CP1616. From web browser I can connect to the web server to confirm that settings of cp1616 are correct.

On the robot it self i have done the necessary IO parameter modifications.

The master PLC is configurated by beckhoff personnel so it should be okey?

The communication is still not working. When the profinet cables are disconnected only the bus error led is flashing. When connecting the cable again both leds starts to flash quickly (Exception error occurred)

What I have tested so far...

- Both are answering to ping calls

- Checked the PC station projekt parameters a 1000 times and reloaded it to the profinet card

- Checked the robot parameters

- Cald beckhoff staff to recheck the plc setup

I'm running out of ideas... anyone with some good advises?

Also wondering if the CP1616 is supported for communication between 3rd party devices like Beckhoff?

And about the IP adress on the card. It is still unclear to me if cp1616 should receive it's ip adress from it profinet master or not?
