PLCSIM problem with HMI panel

The buttons on the hmi do not affect the variables in the plc. I have looked through the forum, but I have not found anything that would help. Tiaportal v15.1 and plcsim 15.1. I have created a new test project with one button and I have not changed anything in the configuration and it still does not work. The PLC is s7-1214c dc/dc/dc and the hmi KTP600 basic. The IP addresses are probably good 192.168.0.x. I have PG/PC set to S7ONLINE(Step 7) -> PLCSIM.TCPIP.1. The errors are not displayed. I have already tried what I found on the forum but it did not help. What problem could I have?

Do show the Alarm buffer. Perhaps you can see Alarms about the connection? Best regards, Wizard

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 1/16/2026 Posts: 16638 Rating: (1944)	Hello The KTP600 Basic is a Basic Panel 1st Generation that has only a newest available Image Version of V12.X.X.X. Since V14 Siemens has changed PLC Sim communication. Check also this FAQ: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/109742764 -> So you cannot use a newer FW on the Panel (there is no newer!) So a communication from KTP600 Simulation and PLC Sim V14 or newer is not possible. With real HW it works. Bye Murof
