80C8 means timout error. It could be generated by a simple address mistype (IP, port) or by a wrong ID.

Typ: there two ID in this context:

1 - the ID that belongs to internal CPU communication resources. This number belongs just to the CPU. Should be an unique number in the CPU project (each communication has its own number)

2 - the ID that belongs to modbus tcp addressing. E.g. it is not used (let as default value). Some Modubs servers, however needs an specific ID to work. it stay to static variables of the MB_Client Block as MB_Unit_ID.

Take a look if your server needs a specific ID number and set it on MB_Unit_ID

I don't know if I good understand to your question. Simply said, if you have wrong Server formal RTU address set with your Client block, you'll have no DONE but ERROR bit set with true, because no correct answer from not known Server.
