Installation order of different TIA software

Mr. Q-Bridge Advanced Member Joined: 12/13/2005 Last visit: 10/13/2025 Posts: 65 Rating: (3)	Hello, I 've installed in VMWARE a new virtual PC with windows v24H2 (the latest version). For the TIA v19 update3 this should be no problem. I like to install: 1. TIA v19 update3 2. WinCC advanced incl Unified PC RT (also available in V19 update3) 3. Unified Comfort Panel V19 Upd3 3. Startdrive (latest version v19 SP1) 4. PLCSIM (i can only find the installation v19 (no servicepack or update3). What should be the correct order to install all this? For installing TIA v19 update3 i've noticed already that I had to install first v19 (without update's) . After that I tried to install PLCSIM but it crashes by installing de PLCSIMADV driver64. May because it is not suitable for windows v24H2. So I went trough without installing this. I installed the TIA v19 upd3 and later on unified Comfort panel v19 upd3 Then Startdrive v19 SP1 By installing SIMATIC_WinCC_UnifiedRT_V19_Upd3 i got an error How can I install no PLCSIM? The version I found is only v19. But on this moment v19 upd3 is already installed?

ElonksuM Experienced Member Joined: 5/6/2022 Last visit: 1/14/2026 Posts: 589 Rating: (123)	Hi In principle, the procedure to install the software you specify should be to first install the base software of all the programs without any updates and then once you have everything installed, start with the upgrades. All these base software can be downloaded from SIOS: "SIMATIC STEP 7 incl. Safety, S7-PLCSIM and WinCC V19 TRIAL Download", "SIMATIC WinCC Unified PC Runtime V19 Simulation & Trial" And then install the updates. I understand that when you say you have the Windows 24H2 version, you are referring to the Windows 11 version. The compatibility list is not yet in the Siemens 'Compatibility tool', although in principle they should be compatible.

To me, the best solution is to place all the installation files under a single folder, maybe named ...\TIA_PORTAL_V19 I would mount all the ISOs for all the base V19 packages, and copy every file from every V19 ISO to that single folder, ...\TIA_Portal_V19 Then, when you run Start to begin the V19 install, it can scan that folder and all sub-folders to see all available v19 components and then provide you with options for installation of V19 base. Once it finishes and you've restarted the PC at least 2 times (once for TIA Portal V19 to finish, and the 2nd to be sure windows has completed anything it needs to do afterwards), then use TIA Admin to find updates to the various packages you intend to use. Do not simply install every possible thing available as that may be hundreds of small updates that are not useful to your install. After downloading and installing the latest updates of all the V19 packages, you will want to restart again and verify once again with TIA Admin that no other updates for those needed V19 packages are available (not likely, but you never know).

I had also the intention to follow your idea to install first all basic version of all packages needed. But like I mentioned I had a problem with PLCSIM. And I thought it had something to do with the windows version or the newer versions of the .NET software. So I hoped the find somewhere a install package where the updates were integrated. But it seems to be not available. @0_Einstein: very interesting idea. For sure I'm going to try that one. I did read also one a different post that sometimes the installer has problems by reading the ISO-files. And they wrote that there installation went better by unpacking the ISO to a map on the disk. AND incase of a virtual PC, the map should be situated on a LOCAL disk and not a shared map from the host-PC. So I will prepare myself for a whole day of downloading, unpacking, installing, rebooting, updating. This all with the good hope not to get any errors. Thanks for the advice.
