Dear friends

Please I've drive unit S120 CU320-2PN with the following construction:

- Closed loop control unit 6SL 3040-1MA01-0AA0

- Motor Module CUA 6SL 3040-0PA00-0AA1

- Power unit 6SL 3210-1PE21-1UL0

When we start the machine as normal the motor starts and after few seconds it stops with fault message F7412 - Drive commutation angle incorrect

as I searched here I found that it is related to polar angle of the encoder and some offset adjustment but I can't find the exact procedure and parameters to go through.

I need your help to solve the problem

Do you have a SIEMENS Motor? 

If not you have to do a Pole identification.

For sin Cos encoders or absolute encoders p1990 and choosing p1980 it should be ok.

Please check the function Manual.

I've Siemens motor, the unit is CU320 is working with two power modules and I tried to get to the pole identification using SCOUT software but I can't, so I need help to get to and also the procedure of pole identification.

thanks the issue is closed and the pole angle correction is done according to procedures in manual s120_drive_fct_man_1117_en-US chapter 4.13 which is very clear and after getting source files of the application.

The MLFB of my CU is 6SL3040-1MA00-0AA0;

I use a Siemens synchronous motor with MLFB 1PH8224-2DF20-9AA1 1755RPM, 355A, 175KW, 355V.

To solve the problem i have altered the value of p0492.

The description of F07412 Drive: Commutation angle incorrect (motor model) suggests that the fault is related to p0492.

i have the same problem , i tried the inverter in different machines , but the same error fault 7412

I had the same problem...

The power wires that go from driver to motor have markings U,V,W... They have to be connected correctly to the driver connector wich also has U,V,W letters marked. So we connected U-U, V-V, and W-W and the motor started working normaly.
