S7-1200 with FTP txt-file transfer

AutoGen_3849540 Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Dear all, I am trying to connect a S7-1200 with a filezilla ftp server over the network to exchange txt files to and from the S7-1200. If I read the manual of the following library correctly this should be possible with the LFTP block: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/109780503/libraries-for-communication-for-simatic-controllers?dti=0&dl=en&lc=nl-NL When I download this library and load it into TIA portal I don't seem to have access to the LFTP block. Can someone tell me why? I suspect the following: I have TIA Portal V16 and in the update notes of the library they have added LFTP at the last moment. So is it only accessible in TIA Portal V17? If so then I will upgrade my software but I want to know if the problem is solved then. Lastly, if anyone has experience with connecting a S7-1200 with ftp control I would like have your advice or tips. Thank you for your time! Regards, Mats Attachment img.png (587 Downloads)

The function was added in V1.3.0 according to the manual available from the link you spoke of. See page 117 for the list of changes. The coding is in SCL which means someone can export the function from TIA17 to a text file for you. You can then import this into your TIA16 software.

(uploading and downloading txt files to and from the S7-1200 with FTP) If you have some advice I would appreciate it Kind regards, Mats

I have TIA portal V16 Basic so upgrading this to V17 basic would be the most affordable option but is basic sufficient for the implementation of the LFTP block? Thanks! Regards, Mats

Filezilla has TLS encryption which I don't think S7 can do. Wing FTP Server works. https://www.wftpserver.com/ The initial PLC connection can be a problem, giving errors like 16#8600 range = TCON etc. A power down of the PLC and re-start fixes that. Used passive mode in the PLC and wrote to a file in the root D:\ (not a directory) 'Testfile.txt.' It works Attachment S7-1200 FTP.jpg (273 Downloads)
