Hi betaria_hartari, To the best of my knowledge, I can tell you the following: -> WinCC Servers (Master and Partner): Yes, you need a WinCC Connectivity Pack license for EACH server in your redundant system. The license must be installed on both the Master and Partner servers. One license per server is required, regardless of the number of clients accessing it. -> Client PC: No, you do not need to install a Connectivity Pack license on the client PC. The client PC only needs: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server. However, I would contact a Siemens sales person to confirm what licenses would be required for your system or architecture before purchasing any licenses. |

Thank you for the reply. Actually I already searched some references and read manual but still doesn't get the clear information. There is reference mention that the Connectivity Pak license is needed only for client PC But in the WinCC 8.1 Connectivity Pack manual, it mentions the WinCC Station (as my understanding this refers to WinCC server) needs RT and Connectivity Pack licenses, also the client PC needs Connectivity Pack Client to get data from remote WinCC RT database using WinCC OLE DB. Is the WinCC Connectivity Pack Client a installer software or a license? Btw, my system uses WinCC 8.1 and these are the licenses that I have in each server of WinCC 8.1 redundant system: I would be very grateful if you can inform me about the licenses after you have information from Siemens sales person |
