Preface: there is a 4-axis control system based on CPU S7-315-2DP (6ES7315-2AH14-0AB0 v3.0) with a programme developed in Step 7 v5.5. From the PLC an operator panel was connected via MPI and a control unit S120 CU320(6SL3040-0MA00-0AA1 v2.6.2) configured in Starter via DP. This system is now fully operational.

'Communication' of the PLC with the S120 is performed using Telegram 111 and the functions DPRD_DAT and DPWR_DAT.

Task: to migrate the PLC project to TIA Portal v17 on an updated component base: PLC - S7-315-2 PN/DP (6ES7 315-2EH14-0AB0 v3.2.6), TP700 Comfort operator panel and keep the S120 in the same state (do not change anything in the Starter project). Updated topology: PLC - operator panel - Profinet, communication with S120 - Profibus DP (X1 port of PLC MPI/DP).

I completely migrated the project to a new PLC in Tia v17, created a new operator panel, but I don't understand how to be with S120.

Hardware Catalog doesn't have the S120 version I need (v 2.6.2), I couldn't find the gsd file for it either (maybe I didn't look hard enough).

I would like to use the S120 as an IO_Device, so that I don't have to change the settings of the servo system, which are fully functional (and I don't have this possibility, in principle, from the Tia environment). It seems to me that devices from Hardware catalogue - Other field devices/PROFIBUS DP/Drives/SIEMENS AG/SINAMICS/6SL3 040-1MA00-0xxx can meet such requirements. But there are many versions there, the youngest of which is 4.3. I can add this device to topoligy and assign the telegram type and address space, but I'm not sure if this is a workable option as at least I'm not sure of the version.

Please suggest ways to solve the problem, if they exist.

I have added the gsd file, assigned exactly the same network properties (speed, device addresses, etc.), but after the startup process I do not get the DP LED on the CU320 to light up. At the same time, I can see both PLC and CU320 in the Profibus network via Online access (CP5711).

When I connect the old PLC back, everything starts and works fine.

What could be the problem?
