I have a COAL BOILER Project. i am using siemens S7 1200 cpu 1215 DC/DC/RLY. i have to read temperature, level and different analog inputs. now guide me how to take input and then convert it to real then normalize then scale then send to PID block and then send to control my output. i want to know from scratch . your guideance is highly appreciated. i am using normal desktop pc as HMI. i will use functions . take  anlaog inputs and send it to my Function like FC3 or etc. and then send to PID. guide me

now tell me some examples for reading TC and RTD values and store in DBs for HMI. also tell me how to use NORM_X and SCALE_X and save data for HMI. also tell me PID function. i have proper AI Module and proper TC and RTD Module installed . you just tell me step by step guide to read and scale values.

First, look at these sample applications for PID_Compact, for TIA Portal v16 use the  samples for PID_Compact v2.

You will of course need a correct analog input module to connect your TC or RTD, see the image below.
