Flexible 2008 - 3rd Party PLC

amateur Posts: 145 Rating: (3)	Hi, This is out first thread to this forum and our experience with flexible in general is limited. We have undertaken a plant which operates with Telemecanique twido PLC. The HMI Interface we are going to use is WinCC Flexible 2008. In the Interface of Flexible 2008 (Communication--> Connections--> Communication driver) there are many different manufacturers available, except telemecanique. So, the question is the following : Is it possible to establish communication with Telemecanique twido PLCs and WinCC Flexible Advanced 2008? if yes ==> which are the basic steps? if no ==> are there any suggestions how can we handle this issue? What options do we have? Thanks in advance for your time

amateur Posts: 145 Rating: (3)	Hi Manfred and thanks for your reply, Well, my description wasn't clear enough. The WinCC Flexible Advanced 2008 will be installed to a PC which has Windows XP SP2. So, our application involves a pc station and not a panel. So, is there the ability to establish communication between Telemecanique twido PLC and Advanced 2008? And if yes, how can we achieve this? with regards

Scott Posts: 81 Rating: (9)	Amateur, From the tech publication from there website http://www.us.telemecanique.com/products/Automation/Programmable_Controllers/Twido/index.html looks like it will communicate Modbus TCP/IP. WinCCFlex has this driver for modicon PLC's. It may or may not work but it is worth a shot. Otherwise, you will have to try the route Darius proposed in OPC. Good Luck
