HOW TO RESET THE ALARMS THROUGH EXTERNAL BUTTONS

I know that there is a acknowledge button in alarm screen but i need to reset the alarmsthrough other buttons. Those who are all know the solution kindly give me some ideas....

Hello samkcr I have a feeling you will also find it useful tohave a look at the so called "HMI acktag" as wellas "PLC ack tag" functionality that WinCC flex provides you with. Have a look atflex's inbuilt help to learn more about these, because should you need them you need to be mindful about how your structure your Alarm DB. Bhaskaran Posts: 107 Rating: (13)	Hi! I normally do it in the PLC in the following way - Say if you have a DB with 100 bytes for alarm then expand this DB with another 100 bytes for acknowledgement. In the WinCC Flexible you create an array with 100 word ( bytes are not accepted ) In the alarm text you select the bit 0 ( address DBX 0.0 ) of the array for the first alarm and bit 800 (addres DBX100.0 ) of the same array as acknowledgement. When an alarm comes and is acknowledged first set the corresponding acknowledge bit and then reset the alarm. When the alarm is reset then after a small time delay reset the acknowledge bit. This time delay is very important since the HMI needs some time to get the data - PLC cycle / Communications delays etc. If you reset the acknowledgement bit early and your alarm bit is also reset then you will land up in a situation where the alarm message will appear in the HMI with status Come and Gone rather than Come , Acknowledged & Gone.
