Environment:

• PLC CPU 1212C (6ES7 212-1AG50-0XB0)
• CB 1241 (RS485) (6ES7 241-1CA50-0XB0) V1.0
• TIA Portal v20 update 3
• voltmeter : A7211-C

Problem/Context: Using PLC 1212 connected to a voltmeter to read voltage values through the RS485 port of the CB 1241 module.

Every thing seamly OK but after reading values for approximately 10 minutes, an error occurs and the PLC stops:

• I/O read access error (I address 500) in FB 613
• Error: User data failure of hardware component

Question: What could be causing this error and how can it be resolved? The system works fine initially but consistently fails after about 10 minutes of operation.

Have you already checked the diagnostic buffer of the CPU for detailed error messages?

Or have you Enable all diagnostic messages for the relevant hardware module? This will allow the module to provide detailed feedback on potential issues.

You can check the firmware version of the hardware module, too. If the firmware is outdated, update it to the latest version to ensure compatibility and resolve potential software-related issues.
