In recent years, Siemens has moved much of its content from support.industry.siemens.com to sieportal.siemens.com. The new portal may look modern, but it’s far heavier — more JavaScript layers, higher CPU and RAM usage, slower to load, and nearly unusable when you’re on-site with only a 2G connection and a small screen. The old site was lighter, clearer, and far more readable — which also made it more eco-friendly and efficient. Design shouldn’t sacrifice usability for style: less is better. If change is necessary, please add a “Style Preference” option — Classic or Modern — so users can choose. Progress is good, but there should always be continuity, accessibility, and respect for those working in the field. |

Hello SummerSeaSun, thank you for your constructive feedback! Your point regarding the heavier workload is completely valid. We'll keep on improving the performance of the new Forum, so it will hopefully be running smoothly in the future, even if the internet connection is slow. I have forwarded your message to the developing team and we will take your perspective into consideration when priorizing the upcoming improvements. Please note that the new Forum is a work in progress. We know that there is still much work that needs to be done and as long as this is the case, the classic Forum remains available to the Community. You can reach it by using the "Back to classic Forum"-Button within the green banner at the top of the page. Alternatively, you can use this link to get directly to the landing page of the classic Forum: https://support.industry.siemens.com/forum/ This might be the preferred option when you are dealing with a slow internet connection. Thank you again for your professional feedback. It is so important for us to hear the perspective of the people that use the Forum. Kind regards, Moderator_Lan |
