Telegram 111 Homing Without SINA_POS

I have a rotary table application with S7-300 Step7 Classic, S120, CU-310-2 PN with absolute encoder, Telegram 111 and EPOS commands. But I'm NOT using the SINA_POS block. I have a referencing sensor which is offset from where my "0" position needs to be. It can be wired to the PLC or to the drive. Should I write my own homing procedure in the PLC and just set the POS_STW2.1 (EPOS Set reference point) when I'm ready to reference? I see others have recommended different approaches, but I think it was because they were using the SINA_POS block. Your input is greatly appreciated!

Of course you cad do it without SINAPOS, just setting the control word of the telegram. Consider that when you perform an homing using the telegram (or sinapos) the offset value is not saved in the ROM of the drive. It means that if you power off the drive and keep it powered off for a while (more than the discharging time of the condensers) you loose the home reference. If i'm not mistaken, the Siemens LAcycCom library (you can find it on the internet) has some functions that can perform Save RAM to ROM from a PLC request
