I'm new to Unified and am looking for a solution for this as well. But the Tip you have linked is a question on how to use Indirect Addressing in WinCC Unified, and in the thread linked you point to this thread, but this thread doesn't have a solution. I don't see the a solution. Also, in my TIA Unified Comfort v18, when I try to use the help in software I receive "Help on this topic is not available". The only thing I have found is when using Indirect Addressing, the tag must be a string. So I am assuming that the tag name must be built in script, but I'm not familiar enough with TIA's rendition of JAVA to complete this task. Regards Vinsster

The Visual studio extension (and the installation manual) are available at SIMATIC WinCC Unified RT Debugger TIP: The debugger can be connected to the scripts of a running project (as RT or Simulation) on the PC. So, despite that it's not possible connect at this moment the debug on an HMI, but it is possible to simulate the HMI on a PC and debug the script there

With the exception of some device-specific functions such as StartProgram, CreateScreenshot or File-Access, the scripts for WinCC Unified Comfort Panel can be used for WinCC Unified PC Runtime as well as for WinCC Unified Basic Panel. Steps: Select with the mouse the place in the script where you should insert the system function In the script editor (inspector window) click in the “Add system function” icon Select (or type) de desired system function Fill the parameters and click to insert TIPs: Some system functions work synchronously while others as asynchronous. If some part of the insert code where red marked check this parameter. Sample project (archived from TIA Portal as .zap21 and after that compacted in .zip format to be uploaded here) user= User, all password = Password1!
