Project Requirement (Summary)

I want to develop a fully customized historical data logging and reporting system in WinCC Unified Runtime PC. The main requirements are as follows:

1. Time Interval Selection Buttons
   Buttons such as 10 Minutes, Hourly, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly, which will define the time span of the historical data.
2. Custom Date & Time Range Selection
   Input fields to manually select:
   • From Date & Time
   • To Date & Time
     This will allow the user to generate reports for a specific number of hours or days.
3. Tag Selection Using List Boxes
   • ListBox A: Contains all logged process tags with selection options
   • ListBox B: Contains selected tags for reporting
   • Arrow buttons to transfer tags between ListBox A⇄ListBox B
4. Report Generation
   After selecting the desired tags and time range, aPlot/Generate buttonwill generate the historical report based on:
   • Selected tags
   • Selected time interval
   • Selected date & time range

My Question

Could you please confirm whether this level ofcustomization is possible in WinCC Unified V19 / V20?

If it is possible, I would be extremely thankful if you could kindly provide:

I would like to clarify my exact requirements once again. Earlier, I shared a screen that represents the nature of what I am trying to achieve. Let me restate it more clearly below.

Assume that I have around 50–100 data logging tags. From these tags, I want to generate historical views, trend-like visualizations, and reports. However, I do not want to use the default WinCC Unified Trend Control, Historical View, or Report Generation elements.

Requirements #1 and #2 – Time Range Selection

I want to have several predefined time interval buttons, such as:

• 10 minutes

• 1 hour

• 1 day

• 1 month

When any of these buttons is clicked, the logged data should automatically be filtered according to the selected time interval.

In addition, I want custom date and time input fields, where the user can manually define a time range (for example, from a specific date and time to another date and time).
This selected time frame should then be applied to the report generation, historical view, or trend-like output.

Requirement #3 – Tag Selection UI

I want all my data logging tags to appear in a list-box with the following features:

• Scroll bar support

• Multi-selection of tags

• A search bar to quickly find any tag

To the right side, there will be another list box, initially empty.

The workflow should be:

• Select one or multiple tags from the left list box

• Click aright arrow button to transfer the selected tags to the right list box

• Similarly, select tags from the right list-box and click a left arrow button to move them back to the left list box

This is a classic “available tags vs. selected tags” behavior.

Requirement #4 – Custom Report / Historical Output (Without Built-in Controls)

From the logging data, I want to:

• Generate and print/export a report, or

• View a custom historical visualization

However, I do not want to use or display the built-in WinCC Unified Trend Control, Historical View, or Reporting elements on the HMI screen.

The expected workflow is:

1. Select the required tags from the left list box

2. Move them to the right list-box using the arrow button

3. Click a Plot / Generate Report button

4. Instantly generate a report only for the tags currently present in the right list box

The output format should be Excel, PDF, or both.

I am sharing one more image for better understanding. I am not sure which platform that example was built on, but I want to implement exactly this kind of behavior in WinCC Unified Runtime PC v20.

Clarification on Your Feedback

In your feedback, you mentioned that Requirement #3 can be implemented using WinCC Unified built-in elements. Unfortunately, I have not been able to achieve this so far.

I have tried multiple approaches using:

• ListBox

• CheckBox

• Process Viewer

• Other built-in UI elements

I also searched extensively using Google, ChatGPT, AI tools, and Siemens documentation, but I was not able to build a fully working solution that meets the requirements described above.

At this point, I believe you now have a clear understanding of what I am trying to achieve.

Could you please guide me with:

• A complete implementation guideline, or

• Any relevant documentation or example project, or

• Your direct assistance on how to implement this step by step

I would highly appreciate your expert guidance on what exactly needs to be done and how it should be done to successfully realize this solution.
