how come Posts: 382 Rating: (47)	Hi all, Does anyone know the advantages/disadvantages of single sided and double sided shield? Under what application we should apply single sided or double sided? I have read some infor from websites too. But also would appreciate any experts that due alot with shielding, IE, PE,grounding and earthingissues can give me information from what they have experience. Thanks in advance! with regards, how come?

uel123 Gold Member Joined: 1/29/2006 Last visit: 12/16/2025 Posts: 451 Rating: (65)	.... and a small comment: In a good old days, ther was a basic rule: - analogue signals (=lower frequencies, signalls 0-10V, 4-20 mA,....) shield groundedallways at one side - digital signals (= higher frequencies: communication cables, incremental encoder cables, even motor cables for frequency inverters) shield grounded allways at both sides. have fun! uel123
