Hi sydney, Sorry, may be I didn't understand correctly, by the way, passing parameters to instance FB/DB is now very clear to me.


Finally, for all who need this-
1. You can use instance DB/multiple instance db memoryto HMI/PLC for direct linking, passing value, setting, resetting. In WinCC flexible you have only DB option(both shared & instance DB are known as DB).
Note that you are sure your Instance DB is not going to extend or change any more.If you add variable to the Control module, you will face the problem as detailed by Sydney.

By using multiple instance you can save lot of DB.So structure the Control module very inside Multiple Instance FB insuch way that you dont need to change that.


2.Use Shared DB. Creat UDT with same structure as your Instance FB I/O variables.Put that in your shared DB, you will get variable names similar to your shared DB variable names. Then assign all the variable by Pressing CTRL+J.....you know after that.
Then use that shared DB's symbols(address) as link between HMI or PLC for data passing, setting, starting or stopping whatever..
By doing this way you are increasing more DBs in your program, creating longer program, data mapping extra work, and end of the day you dont need to be worry about changing HMI tag address/PLC command address after changing your Contol module parameters. Only change will be on the PLC side. You have to be just careful, in each procedure

I am doing the 2nd way to structure my project, because we have lot of chances of changing control module parameters.

Hi, Libra1780, Thank you for the information. I didnt get what do you mean by "Indipendent" ? We are using WinCC flexible.

Is there any option available with this tool; bywhich multiple instance alarms (Standard Device FB's) can beautomatically inserted in Wincc/HMI.....
