My PG M2 MPI/DP(CP5611 MPI) port does not work!

m.abdi Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Dear Sirs , I have a problem about my PG M2 MPI/DP port so I can not connect to Simatic C7 (also S7-300). my hardware configuration is as following: 1.PG M2 2.Simatic C7-634 3.Simatic Manager V5.4+SP4 4.MPI Cable 6ES7901-0BF00-0AA0 I connected my PG to C7 through the MPI port and I set PG/PC interface in the simatic manager as following as: CP5611 (MPI) 1.check box the PG/PC is the only master on the bus 2.address. 1 3.timeout. 1s 4.tranmission rate. 187.5 kbps 5.highest station address. 31 So , when I select "show accessible nodes" in PLC menu , "Online:Bus faulty" message appears. meanwhile , I checked CP5611 in the device manager so that is working properly andalso I can connect to C7 by the external MPI via RS232 in com1. I hope to recieve some solutions about this problem as soon as possible. Thank you.

Wizard Diamond Member Joined: 4/24/2006 Last visit: 1/7/2026 Posts: 9100 Rating: (1202)	Dear m.abdi, Please try the following: In PG/PC interface, you select CP5611 (MPI), go to properties and change MPI address to 0. Probably an address conflict! Standard a CPU has address 2, a HMI panel has address 1 and a PG should be address 0. Best regards, Wizard

m.abdi Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi Wizard , This is my PC Adapter(MPI) properties: MPI : -Checkbox "PG/PC is the only master on the bus" is not active. -Address. 0 -Timeout. 30s -Transmission rate. 187.5 kbps -Highest station address. 31 Local Connection: -Connection to. Com1 -Transmission rate. 19200 -Checkbox "apply settings for all modules" is not active. Thank you

I would strongly recommend to you to get your PG to a repair centre to evaluate a HW defect of the on board CP 5611. If all settings are OK and you get these messages I either see a Problem on the CP or on the interconnection. As you mentioned you use apreconfiguredcable and you surely used this cable also with your PC/MPI Adapter I fear this problem is HW based. Best regards J_Bell
