Hi,

I do the project on WinCC Flexible 2008 SP1 HF2 (HMI is PC) alongside with PLCSIM (V5.4+SP3) which simulate S7-315PN/DP. Connection is provided over PN port.

My duty is to transfer about 1000 real data from a text file (e.g. setpoints) in form of an array (data type REAL) into the real power tags of PLC.

I can read text file using VB script functions, but data are transfered to PLC extremly slowly (approx. 3 tags per second - I monitroing variables via the DB monitoring in STEP7). Also not all data are transfered to PLC memory (about 80%).

Do someone have some tip for this kind of problem? Maybe it is connected with some adjustments of system memory for scripts.

could it be, that you are a little bitover the "System limits"!!!!!!! from the panel.
-> You using 10.000 tags!

Look to the flexible help andyou can see how many tags allowto use.
I mean, this will be "your" problem

An array only counts as one tag so its only 20 tags. However I know its a lot of data. I put it with the other post because It was similar and I know its a long shot.

Currently I collect the data in these arrays over the cycle of the machine. I do buffer bit trends to read them up to a trend screen. I also have a save button on the screen where they can save the data out to a text file. This is all working on my PC runtime so I know that flexible can move this type of data. What I want is to be able to reload one of these files to the trend after it has been saved. The trend object can only get data from the plc it can not display from within WinCC Flexible. So I have to load the data to the plc then reload it back into the trend. This is not a "oh no" type of project just an addition to our standard products.

I don't know what is stopping the script. I don't know if it is WinCC flexible having trouble sending down the array or if it is because the script is running so long.

Everything I am doing is on a PC Runtime. I now have this working but it is a little larger than I thought. I have 24 arrays of 500. I set the arrays up in a recipe. This lets my script load the data into the array then I call the SetDataRecords to PLC and it downloads all the data. I assume that Flexible will break the writes down to small packets down to the PLC. Any way it works. I am also looking into changeing the way I am doing all of this. Now that I have the recipe I may change the way I write the text file. I am using a script now but I may be able to export the record from the recipe.
