Sw redundancy with CPU coordination on ethernet

RFP Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hi everyone: I´m trying to start a system with two CPU´s 315 PN/DP and I planned to use the DP port for the redundant bus to the ET200M racks, whilecommunicatingbetweenCPU´s throught the PN port. I want to use the same portfor the Scada also. Is it possible? I could get Scada communication, the redundant peripherial works ok, butboth CPU´s stays active. I configures the SW Redundance as told in manual,but some parameters fools me... I follow the examples loading library AG_SEND_300, for profibus and ethernet. I call FC100 inside OB100, and one parameter is MPI_ADR... What does it means MPI address in an ethernet system? Does anybody has an example with this configuration? Even if I had to use another CP for communicating both CPU´s I wil need an example of how to configure it. Thank you in advance.

MPI address forcommunication via Ethernet sounds strange. Which function blcoks for communication do you use???

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 1/16/2026 Posts: 3054 Rating: (1062)	Hello RFP simply ignore the "MPI_ADR" parameter of FC100 (SWR_START), its value is irrelevant if you use anEthernet (ISO) connection (or Profibus FDL) betweenthe two CPU's of your Software Redundant (SWR) system (just like the "LADDR" and "VERB_ID" parameters are irrelevant if you use MPI). Your main problem at the moment though is that you can't use the onboard PN port for the redundancy link between the two CPU's and will require a CP for it (unless you ask Siemens kindly to release an updated SWR package that supports the PN port, since it has been 6 yeasr since the "current" version 1.2 came out). Chapter 4.7 of the SWR manual list the possible networks and hardware requirements (and incorrectly calls the Ethernet CP a "CP 345-1" instead of CP343-1 but nevermind). I hope this helps
