You just make 1s continuously pulse signal and send it to other connection partner via connection. And this other partner just copy signal and send you back. So in both ends if signal is not changing for set amount of time then connection is lost. This is the best for me .

Corben Posts: 19 Rating: (0)	Hi, Darius, I tested them, no useful information from status of X_PUT/X_GET while cable break, if only one job running, status code 16#7002 shows data transfer is already active; if several jobs running, then status codes are 16#7002and 16#80B0.

You can combine both methods: life signal for cable break and error status for other errors. I think that errors status shows only protocol errors, but not physical layer error (this is just my guessing). I know that its not possible to get error status for cable break in ethernet due to nature of protocol. Here must be the same thing. Anyway you has a sollution .
