how to run HMI from ES

T41 Posts: 88 Rating: (1)	Hi all, I have a PCS7 V7.0 (WinCC 6.2) project with 1 ES, 1 pair of redundant OS server & OS server standby, 3 OS clients. I just copied the whole project and installed on my laptop. There are some modification work (PLC & HMI) need to be done. After the modification, I want to run PLCSIM 5.3 to test the logic and HMI. That means I want to run the HMI on the ES, run the logic in PLCSIM 5.3 Questions: 1. I can't open the HMI on the ES. How can I modify the HMI? How can I run HMI from ES? 2. As the PLCSIM 5.3 only support MPI, that means I need to add an additionalCP5611 to link the AS and OS? Thanks in adavnce! T41 Attachment question_cant_open_HMI_on_ES.JPG (170 Downloads)

Fatso Posts: 168 Rating: (6)	Hi T41 you have a couple of problems here 1 the error message that you attached maybe caused by insufficient rights,check if the user logged on is a member of the following groups in windows:Administrators,Simatic HMI 2 How did you copy the project to your laptop,the correct way is to archive the project on the ES then retrieve that backup to your laptop.If you want to make modofications you have to open the server project i noticed on your attachment you are trying to open a client project,all changes are made on the server project 3 your version of PLCSIM allows only MPI,you can change your connection in the project to MPI,after testing on your laptop you can change back the connection.The comms card you are talking about is only used if you have a physical PLC connected to your laptop otherwise you use PLCSIM. 4 if you want to goto runtime on your laptop i suugesst you run OS simulation on your server project

If I want to change the HMI, I only need to open the server project on the ES through the terminal bus and change it. Nothing need to be done for client project, right? Inthe HWCfg, I need to add a CP5611 on PC station to provide a MPI channel. No physical CP5611 is needed, right? 4 if you want to goto runtime on your laptop i suugesst you run OS simulation on your server project If I goto runtime on my laptop (as ES), I need some card (like cp1613) installed on my laptop to link to plant bus (talk to AS) and through terminal bus to all the OS servers and OS clients, right? Otherwise how can I goto runtime on my laptop? As you said, open the OS server project and run it on OS simulation, but how about the physical OS servers already running on the plant bus? No problem to do like that? 5. additional new question After complie the OS and download it, there may be some graphic changes in the server OS project, like manually add some picture(.pdl), add some objects on the automatically created picture (by PCS7 from compile). At this time,I need to upgrade the whole system, like add more hardware cards, change the configuration of the hardware cards, change the logic, change the graphics, then I need to re-compile the whole system (like CFC, PH will be changed). If I download the new compiled system, the existing pictures with the different names and those manually insertedin the OS server project will be overwrited or unaffected? Thanks! T41

"xx - Testing" (chapt. nr. dependig from PCS7 version), it explain how to test OS on ES station. Fatsosaid pretty good: to move Multiproject from diffirent ES need to useArchive/Retrive function. hope can help regards

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hello T41, If this project is the same from your other post, in which the notebook has an older PCS 7 version than the rest of the project, make sure you have the notebook in the correct version before making changes and downloads to the project.
