Profibus master address of y-link

smiffy Platinum Member Joined: 1/17/2007 Last visit: 1/8/2026 Posts: 1561 Rating: (540)	When using a y-link (157-0AA82-0XA0) the address range of the profibus master network on the single side of the ylink is limited to a minimum of 5980 (see attached picture). Is there any way of changing this minimum value so I can set it to (say) 10? Hardware configurator is V5.3+SP2+HF12 Attachment y-link.gif (108 Downloads)

However these blocks have the subnet (profibus address) input as type byte, so the value 5980 is too large for the input. These blocks were developed by someone else in Siemens so I do not have the source code to change the type. They work fine for systems without the y-link as the address are much smaller values.

CBo Gold Member Joined: 4/5/2006 Last visit: 10/3/2025 Posts: 917 Rating: (63)	Hi smiffy , if i remeber well the driver are you talking about has been developed for PCS7 v5.x, H system was start to develop in that time (and Y-Link too). Maybe some incompatiility must to be solved, so if you still need that driver, i think you have to call your Siemens contact or search them from P+F. One more, that P+F HW is no more saleable and new version need new gsd file too. I suppose you are modifying an old PCS7 version, the better solution in this case should be contact Siemens for implement new P+F driver can use Y-Link (but you have to pay for that...i guess) regards
