ConPerMon - Control Performance Monitoring

Georgio Posts: 245 Rating: (14)	Hi all! I have a question about new function block in PCS 7 AP Library V 7.1: ConPerMon (Control Performance Monitoring). There is a description of this function block in help and also there are examples in Sample projects. But these examples are made in CFC. There is a connection between FB ConPerMon and others blocks (PID regulator, functions for scaling analog inputs and unscaling analog outputs, functions and functions blocks for controlled system simulation and so on..). I have tried to use ConPerMon block no for CFC but in OB35 like FBD block. But when i add this funtion block to OB35, create instant DB and download to PLC, there is a SF. I have made no connections to the others blocks, just insert ConPerMon and DB to the OB35. Description of the error in Diagnostic Buffer: Area length error when writting. But why there is writting error when there is no connection to the another blocks.. ? Have you tried to use ConPerMon function block in your project in FBD or STL ? Any experiences ? Please help me, thanks a lot. Georgio

And when i add ConPerMon function block to the OB35 in FBD, there are still errors i wrote in my previous post. And help tells nothing Thanks for your answers. Georgio

(not PCS7) i'm not wondered it's giving you trouble ! can you explain better what you need, expert could give to you a different right solution maybe regards

Georgio Posts: 245 Rating: (14)	Hello. Thats maybe the problem. I thought that Library PCS 7 Advanced Process Library is library for use in every environmet. Some blocks from this library i use in FBD and STL in directly in Simatic Manager. I only have to access inputs and outputs through structures STRUCT (value and status), but function blocks works. But in special blocks (COnPerMon - control performance monitoring, GainSched - gain scheduling) are generated from CFC chart, so they dont match to my applications. I except that i will have to use these blocks in CFC chart and than generate code... But i want to use this block directly in FBD. Is that any way to use ConPerMon and others without CFC ? Are that blocks in other library ? I except that the same problem will be with ModPreCon (Model Predictive Control)... But unfortunately i have no experients with CFC, I am used to work in FBD and STL... so maybe the change from FBD and STL to CFC is neccessary to work with new libraries from Siemens... I know how to access the parameters of the FBs interconnected in the CFC chart from the CFC library in the LAD/STL/FBD edisor in the Step 7. I also know that is aCFC addon for Step7. I already have this addon. But I thought that Library PCS 7 Advanced Process Library is library for use in every environmet (Step7, CFC and so on). Some blocks from this library i use in FBD/STL directly in Step 7 with no problems (except situation that i have to access inputs and outputs through STRUCT = value and status for each input and output). I dont understand that this library is made only for use in CFC editor and not for Step 7 STL/FBD.... And than i have to compile and generate charts from CFC to code for S7 300... But when I have a program for CPU made by STL/FBD in Step 7 and want to use ConPerMon I have to rewrite all program to CFC ? It isnt good solution. Thanks for your answers. Georgio
