The first time a Profibus network is issued, is is called PROFIBUS(1); if you add a Profibus CP, the network attached to it will be called Profibus(2) unless you change the properties of the bus. Now, MPI nodes can have addresses from 0 to 31 (max. 32 nodes on te MPI bus, per project), and these addresses are attributed sequentially by the program as they are inserted on the bus (CPs, FMs and other CPUs in the project all get one). However, you can change these values if you choose to (or if there is a conflict when imnporting a new station in the project) as long as you do not have 2 elements with similar addresses (the HWConfig editor will block that from happening).
