CNC600 Posts: 455 Rating: (77)	Hi, it's not so easy to decide an upgrade of SW. The time and effort for an upgrade is pending on: - type of SINUMERIK system (840D? 840Dsl? 802?...) - type of used hardware - currently used SW - currently already installed 3rd party applications - expected new SW version Some steps from SWx.y to SWa.b requieres new hardware, recompilition of 3rd party applications - and sometimes a new memory card for NC-SW as well. Additionaly You will need to upgrade further SW internaly SW components (e.g.PLC base program) and some additionaly external tools to handle the entire process (STEP7, tool to write new SW on memory card). If You just want to upgrade inside the same SW-line ("Hotfix") it's mostly not so difficult. Finally it's difficult to give You an advice from here without knowing all the conditionsaround Your machines application. Please ask Your responsible SIEMENS office for assistance. hope that helps CNC600

He take flash card put in his computer PCMCIA and with special programs make something like ghost image of old software and after that put new one on it.I only want to know from where people take this “image” of new software. It is possible to download, or is only one official way take it from the Siemens… I suppose it is not free…Maybe you make upgrade and you know more about it. Ps. I think about change in 840D NCU system software 07.04.2 to 07.04.33 I will be grateful for the help.

CNC600 Posts: 455 Rating: (77)	Hi, I understand. The CNC-SW-package isone *.abb-file, approx size of 8MB. (less or more, pending on SW-version). These files are not downloadable from public internet without a special permission. Additionaly You need the SW to write the data on to the PCMCIA card. This SW containes two independent parts: - the program to write/read PCMCIA-cards (provided from SIEMENS) - the driver to get connnection from "program" to the PCMCIA-card (3rd party SW, as I might know it's not purchaseable from SIEMENS, special license-key needed) hope that helps CNC600 ################################### Additional information: The SIEMENS program is called "SinuCom FFS" The Drivers nameis "Cardware" from APSOFT. here is a link in "ProductSupport": http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/21336365

CNC600 Posts: 455 Rating: (77)	perhaps You did me not understand. This forum is provided by Siemens. You can not expect to get internal information or pricing information here in this forum. If You need the "new SW" for Your machine (to fix any bug) or You need the SW just to complete Your "collection" - contact Your local Siemens Service/Sales dept. They are responsible for distribution and pricing as well. wish You a nice weekend as well CNC600
