The modbus data registers are held in a shared DB (the DB number used is your choice). So you would need to copy your required IO data from the IO address space (either symbolically or by using the absolute address) into your nominated modbus data DB. The mapping to the actual modbus register addresses is under your control and is controlled by what address you use in the DB.
