MATLAB to PLC Communication

Kumail Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	hi, i am working on a project in which i have to do communication between MATLAB software and PLC. what are the different options can i use to accomplish this task? MATLAB software involves the image processing done on PC and it is sending its decision to the PLC. secondly should i send my data serially or parallel and which one is more effective? PLC used is Siemens S7-300.

jklm Posts: 1742 Rating: (309)	Hello, Why not making the connection to the PLC using Ethernet (TCP/IP connection for instance). Via the Profinet interface of a PN-CPU, or a CP343-1 Lean.

Kumail Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	i have gone through the forum and the discussion is maily basd on OPC or Hybrid. actually i am a beginner and i am looking for some other alternative. My project actually involves the separation of different objects that are coming on the conveyor belt. first stage is image processing using MATLAB which is done by taking a snap shot of the object by using a camera. then the MATLAB processes the image and gives its decision to the PLC to whether activate the pusher which is located at the other end of the conveyor depending upon the object that it is a desired object or an undesired object. now the problem is that i dont know how to send the image processing result from the MATLAB to PLC. waiting anxiously for answers.
