Inputs not being 'seen' by PLC but memory bits are

ghost_dc Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Hello, Just wondering if any one had an explanation on why I cansee/changememory bits and outputsthrough tags in WinCC Flex, from the corresponding output/memory. However if Ilink a tag to an input of the PLC it has no affect. Sorry if this is a silly question it is bugging me though. Im am using a S7-300 PLC and a PC running the WinCC Flex runtime. Thanks.

This is not normal behaviour of Flexible, because it should be no problems to "see" physical input or set physical output from HMI. It could be some problems with project itself or with Flexible installation. Firstly I suggest to create just simple project with one tag which is linked to one physical input of PLC and try to set this input and see if its ok on HMI side. If creating of new project isn't helping then it could be damaged installation of Flexible or faulty configuration.

ghost_dc Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	The OS is Windows XP Professional, the Wincc flexible version is V1.3.0.0_1, the PLC is connected to the PCby means of RS232-MPI adapter (This is most likelythe issue, as I dont have a CP card). I tried two different PC's one running the simulator and one connected to the PLC, both using a very simple program. (Same problem, however they both do not have the CP card) Even if I cant fix the problem, can anyone give an explanation on why memory address work, is it something to do with the scan time of the PLC? Thanks again.

If so please add a "P" in front theflex input address?

ghost_dc Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Thanks Fritz I tried using the PI instead of I, however still no go. I may have to stick with using memory bits, just wish I knew why they work and inputs do not.

Every cycle, the CPU will provide new Input values, depending on Process Image. So when you try to write to an input it will be overwritten by CPU next cycle. Best regards, Wizard
