Compatability issue with WinCC/Step 7 10.5 basic

regroo Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	After working with the S7-200 for a while I installed the new Step & software to run the S7-1200. Following this my stand alone version of WinCC 2008 SP1 refuses to display the properties for any of the switches, buttons etc. I have restored back to a date pre-installation and everything is fine. I tried to reset the view and nothing changed. There is an article about modifying the registry but I really dont think that this should be necessary. What exactly is the issue with these two pieces of software working together and has anyone else experienced this? Unfortunately this looks like yet another poorly tested piece of Siemens software.

The issue I have is that since I have installed Step 7 10.5 basic my already installed version of WinCC doesn't function properly. Since my last post I have removed Step 7 10.5 and am able to use WinCC as normal. Therefore I have to assume that 10.5 is causing the conflict. Is an upgrade to SP2 going to fix this?
