Wincc 2008 Flexible RT Failure to start on Simatic Panel PC

Bavarian335i Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi - I tried searching the forums to post on the right thread, but I couldn't find any that relates to my issue. Iam trying to set up communication betweena PLC (S7-315) and a Simatic Panel PC (15" Touch). I've followed all the necessary instructions to setting up the communication between the two, and when I simulate it on my laptop, everything works as far as the HMI simulation is concerned. The buttons on the screenare actively talking to the PLC. Now, when I performed a transfer from my laptop to the Simatic Panel PC via the RT Loader, it shows as all the files were transferred successfully. Then an error pops up on the Panel PC showing "Starting WinCC flexible Runtime fails. Retransfer." I tried manually copying the " *.fwx " file in directory where the configuration should be according to the RT Loader. When I open the file, my HMI program will load. However, none of the buttons is corresponding or talking to the PLC. I can ping the IP address of my Simatic Panel PC so I don't think communication is a problem. I think I may be missing some files in order to set up the RT files on the Panel PC. Any suggestions or thoughts as to where I went wrong ormay be missing? Also, since I added a new screen to the network configuration, do I need to download the new hardware (Simatic Panel PC) configuration to the PLC (S7-315) so it will recognize that there is a new device on the network? I got it to finally autostart and load the RT file, but it still doesn't seem to want to talk to the PLC. I can ping the IP address of the PLC processor from the Simatic Panel PC. Also, I can ping the Panel PC's IP address as well.

Bavarian335i Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	I've set the PG/PC interface to Ethernet already. The PLC processor is talking to another 10" Multi Touch Panel already. I'm adding this Simatic Panel PC to the network. I can simulate the application on my laptop, and it runs perfectly. However, the same file on the Panel PC will load, but it just doesn't seem to respond or talk to the processor. I check my IP address, subnet, and the gateway is set to the right addresses for the PLC and panel PC.

skimmer Posts: 317 Rating: (18)	Hi, If you only have the panel pc connected and disconnect the MP does it work? If so, you need to increase the number of HMI connection resoiurces in the CPU - H/w config cpu properties/communication.

The PC was communicating fine and suddenly stopped communicating. I could ping the PLC but no communication. I ended up removing the Wincc Flex Run-time and re-installing it. I set the PG/PC interface and it was good to go. How about using NCM Diagnostics which should be installed on your PC for diagnosing the communication issue. Take a look at the attached file.
