J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, I am sorry but the OLM is not a Y-Link. The problem is that the Y-Link offers 2 interfaces to allow two DP Master systems to access DP Slaves with only one interface. In this case only the active Station is allowed to access the DP Slaves the other one will poll but is not able to write. In your case you would also have a DP Slave (at least I guess so) with one interface... one PROFIBUS Address. As soon as the second DP Master tries to poll the Slave, it will be informed that there is already a DP Master and it is not allowed to configure the Slave. The same problem will arise as soon as you switch over the Systems. Especially if the DP Master is still active.... it may be that the CPU Switches over... and stuck because the DP Master system of the stand by CPU is still acting as DP Master... and the Slave does not notice that the CPU switched... A lot to think about... your solution with the OLM acting as Y-Link will not work... the OLM will work just as a cable. Best regards J_Bell
