Problem with Converting S5 to S7

Um.. i have problems with converting s5 to s7 I know it needs something for conversion. it'sS5 files.(XR.INI,ST.S5D,Z0.SEQ, etc..) I haveall files ofabove..& iexcute converting.. following procedure of manual. &importExternalsource file(converted)...& compile.. But the result is different in my regards. Many Error(304), Warning(155) ------whenconvertingS5 file to S7 file Error(101),Warning(765) ------when compiling convertedS7 file I thought after the compiling,Blocks(OB,FC,FB,DB,etc..) would be appeared inthe Project Window STEP7. But there is nothing... --->this is main problem. what's wrong..? Please help me. i'm beginner of Ste7. & can't communicate in english very well. Considering this points,,is anybody for me? Here is part of what it says: *5.3 Preparing the S5 Program* Before actually converting your STEP 5 program, you can prepare it for its future use as a STEP 7 program. (However, you do not have to do this first; all necessary corrections can also be made in the STEP 7 source file after the conversion.) This initial adaptation will reduce the number of error messages and warnings occurring during conversion. For example, you can make the following adaptations to the STEP 5 program before proceeding with the conversion: 􀁸 Evaluate system settings in the data blocks with the program properties DB1 or DX0. After this, you can delete DB1 and DX0. 􀁸 Remove all calls from integrated blocks or accesses to the system data area; this functionality can be achieved by assigning parameters to the S7 CPU. 􀁸 Adapt all input, output, and peripheral address areas to the (new) module addresses by using the STEP 5 function “Rewire.” (When doing this, you should make sure that the STEP 5 address area is not exceeded; otherwise, an error will be reported during the first cycle of the conversion process. If this occurs, these instructions will not be converted.) 􀁸 Delete all repeated non-convertible parts of the program until there is only one “unique” STEP 5 instruction for each part of the program. This “unique” instruction can be assigned a macro to replace the part of the program (see Section 5.4) You see, although they are closely related, S5 and S7 programs are not equivalent. S7 is a newer generation of propcessors, with a lot more memory, newer hardware, and a different structure if the programming software. A quick review: -Remove all integrated functions that access the analog modules in your S5 program; configuration and parametrization of analog modulesis handled directly in Step 7's HWConfig editor; this relates to the second point from the manual, above. -Remove all communications DBs and program blocks in the S5 program; these are now handled in the S7 Netpro editor (to provide connection IDs between communication partners) and the Step 7program blocks dedicated to the CPs. -There are instructions in Step 5 that cannot beunderstood by the S7 processor, and will never be converted: L:IR/TIR (load and transfer Indirect Register), DO.. (indirect addressing instruction) and others listed at the end of your manual.In the converted Step 7 program these will be indicated as impossible to convert. You will have to decipher how the original programmer intended to use them and program a similar function in Step 7, using S7 instructions; some members here are very helpful in that area. Note that each S5 family (S5-100U, S5-135U, S5-155U)uses a slightly different instruction list, due to differences in memory and processing power. It would be good that you provide us with the model of S5 CPU you are converting so we can direct you to the correct Step 5 instruction manual. This would help you understand which functions are effectively used in the CPU to be converted. This, if well done, can remove the greater part of the errors and warnings in the converted S7 file. Theremaining can be evaluated one by one (or at least type by type) when you get there. Note that this is not an unfamiliar situation. Use the search box above to look for threads on "Converting S5 to S7"; you will see that this is one of the common issues when dealing with this conversion. And you will be able to get an idea of the proposed solutions by helpful members of the forum. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

aramis Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi ! Thanks. It's a model of 'S5-135U' (6ES5 928-3UB11) I have never experienced in STEP5 & I'm beginner of STEP7 I know I have to effort too much for this task. That way is not easy for me. But i never give up! Again, thanks for your teaching & encourage. Have a good day.
