S5 CPU 928B Eror

Shivaji Patil Posts: 140 Rating: (1)	Dear Freinds/Expert, I am coming across strange problem with S5 CPU 928B CPU shows following Error leds Basp SI1 SI2 But stop and run Leds both are OFF. I can not communicate with CPU through PG , CPU state doesnot change atall even though the CPU stop elector is changed to Stop mode, Please comment,

Shivaji Patil Posts: 140 Rating: (1)	Dear Sir, Thanks for the suggestion, I was of the same opinion at the first take. But outcome was surprising . I have same problem with the spare CPU aswell. And I tried with replacing the the Power supply and it worked. the problem is solved.

Late Platinum Member Joined: 1/7/2006 Last visit: 5/11/2025 Posts: 2705 Rating: (321)	Hi, is it working on RAM or EPROM, you may take out the module and look what happens if you switch the power on again. If there is then also the same respons, then it will be a defect of the CPU.

jklm Posts: 1742 Rating: (309)	Hello, In the manual: STOP = off and RUN = off ==> The CPU is in the INITIAL START or program check state. Because you have the problem with both CPUs, I suspect the memory module (program) to be defective.

Simaticus Posts: 262 Rating: (24)	Dear ShiRaPatil, jklm invented the correct idea ... If a visualization (hmi) is included in your system there may be loops runnning during startup of your plc. Hence you ought to check the blocks used in OB21 and OB22. Please try status block in these blocks to find out how far the plc gets when doing a restart by switch. Good luck
