Architecture to connect HMI and PLC to ethernet using Smart Access

Redondo46 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have a doubt about how to connect a PLC (S7-300) and HMI (MP277) using Smart Access. The PLC and HMI are connected by Profibus and are working right, but now i need to connect this system to a SCADA. My doubt is about ethernet connection, i need to access PLC tags to use in SCADA, but i also need to use smart access. So.. i need to make one connection from PLC to ethernet and another from HMI to ethernet or just one connection is enough? Connecting just the PLC to ethernet is possible to use Smart Access? Wizard Diamond Expert Joined: 4/24/2006 Last visit: 12/24/2025 Posts: 9097 Rating: (1202)	Dear Redondo46, When you want to use WinCC flexible Sm@rt/Access, you schould connect panel to Ethernet. If you want tags out of PLC to use in Scada, you can use an ethernet CP in S7-300. Best regards, Wizard
