declaration limitation of initial values for array of 300 INT

S44 Posts: 123 Rating: (4)	Hi, I am coding a SCL source block and would like to integrate a array of 300 INT values, when i am trying to specify the initial values of this array, i get a compilation error "message 34:4439 Description of Error: The length of the initialization string separated by commas in an array initialization is limited to a maximum of 255. This is due to the memory format of the online interface description." H : ARRAY [1 .. 25, 1 .. 12 ] OF INT := -1, -12, -2, -3, -4, -5, -6, -7,........(limitation to 255) if i am trying to add these initial values directly in the generated DB block!, same problem! if someone has a idea how to declare these initial values! thank you in advance! syl20

Chilly_Garfield Posts: 316 Rating: (37)	Hi syl, you can declare these values in OB 100 with standard allocations. H[x,y]:=z. If you have a relation between the values you can init the values in a loop. I know no other solution... What for a Version of STEP 7 and SCL do you use?

The way I got round it was to have several smaller arrays that are below the 255 limit. I initialise these smaller arrays as normal with my initial values. Then at runtime (normally just during a restart OB100, OB101, OB102), I copied the contents of the smaller arrays to my large array using a loop (you could also use BLKMOV if you wish). Then you can use your big array as normal. I know this is not ideal, but it is the best that I could come up with.
